Technical regulations for river water ecological monitoring in the Yangtze River Basin officially released

The regulations stipulate the content and technical requirements for river water ecological monitoring in the Yangtze River Basin, and are applicable to aquatic habitats and aquatic organisms in the Yangtze River Basin (excluding the Yangtze River Estuary) for the purpose of river water ecological protection and management. Biological monitoring, monitoring results can serve the needs of river water ecological status and health assessment, trend analysis, problem diagnosis and management measures formulation.

The regulations are jointly issued by the Institute of Water Ecology, the Hydrological Bureau of the Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission, the Yangtze River Fisheries Research Institute of Chinese Fisheries Research, and the Ecological Environment Monitoring and Scientific Research Center of the Yangtze River Basin Ecological Environment Supervision and Administration Bureau. Jointly compiled by the Jiangxi Provincial Hydrological Monitoring Center and the Jiangxi Provincial Hydrological Monitoring Center, it is of great significance for improving the standardization level of water ecological monitoring in my country and improving the scientific and technological basic support capabilities for water ecological protection and restoration in the Yangtze River Basin.

In recent years, the Institute of Water Ecology of the Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission has attached great importance to scientific and technological standardization work. In the "Institute of Water Ecology's "14th Five-Year Plan" Science and Technology Development Implementation Plan", it has been clarified that it strives to be the chief editor in the field of water ecology. (Participating in the preparation) Standards and procedures at all levels have standardized objectives, and formulated the overall implementation plan and annual and departmental implementation plans for the "14th Five-Year Plan" for science and technology development, detailing the core results and outputs including the preparation of standards and procedures. The plan will be implemented in an orderly manner by the responsible department and the person in charge of the application.
